Intellijoint Surgical is seeking a Launch Specialist to provide technical, educational, and sales support to assist all regions in meeting sales objectives and launching new territories. This role would report to our National Accounts Manager. This is a fast-paced position working with thought leaders in the orthopaedic surgery field. This position is an opportunity to work with a disruptive technology that can improve surgical outcomes and restore a patient’s quality of life. It requires a self-starter who can build relationships quickly and can handle a dynamic environment and a changing schedule.  

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Acts as a product expert and launches new territories as Intellijoint expands
  • Understands national and regional sales objectives. Works in partnership with National Accounts Manager to achieve and exceed goals
  • Educates and trains physicians, hospital personnel and office staff on technical matters relating to Intellijoint products and related procedures
  • Oversees the training program, both internally and externally, by:
    • Providing continued education to others on new products and product updates
    • Training external reps
    • Training new and current Intellijoint employees
    • On boarding new Intellijoint employees
    • Building training materials including materials on Intellijoint’s internal online portal, and external reference materials
    • Delivers one-on-one training sessions, in-service education programs, seminars and/or outside symposiums
    • Promotes the safe and effective use of Intellijoint products and related procedures
  • Responsible for product deployment, involving:
    • Representing Intellijoint during surgical procedures to provide troubleshooting and other technical assistance
    • Bringing in and setting up equipment
    • Setting up in-servicing with hospital staff
    • Training surgeons
    • Supporting hospitals and surgeons throughout initial cases and setting expectations for continued maintenance of cases
    • Conveys customer feedback to Research & Development
  • When available, the Launch Specialist will also assist with regional events and coordinating labs
  • Support inside sales initiatives such as contacting new prospects and will drive adoption of Intellijoint products

Basic Qualifications:

  • Degree in engineering, nursing, biology, chemistry or exercise physiology field

  • Ability for Intellijoint to launch multiple territories at the same time
  • Excellent training of Intellijoint employees and enabling the entire team to feel comfortable with our product
  • Moving hospitals towards external handoff and being less rep-dependent, and starting evaluations quicker with the goal of shortening the sales process

Physical Job Requirements: 

  • Frequent two-handed lifting of up to 40 pounds from floor to chair/table and from one to another surface at approximately the same level
  • Sitting, standing and/or walking for up to eight plus hours per day
  • Environmental exposures include eye protection, infectious disease and radiation
  • Ability to wear seven to nine pounds of lead for extended periods of time while in the operating room
  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls
  • Frequent bending/stooping, squatting and balance
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus in relation to travel and operating a personal computer.
  • Ability to travel extensively with ease:
    • Travel in Canada – up to 25% of the time
    • Travel in the U.S. – up to 75% of the time
  • Periodically required to work weekends, evenings and nights
  • Must have a valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance policy, or be able to drive a rental car
