Overview

The Regional Manager will provide leadership and support Intellijoint Surgical’s strategic partners in the adoption of Intellijoint products. As Intellijoint’s first hire in Australia, the successful candidate is expected to be a technical product expert and excel in training others on our products. This is a fast-paced position working with thought leaders in the orthopaedic surgery field. This position provides an opportunity to work with a disruptive technology that can improve surgical outcomes and restore a patient’s quality of life.  This role will report directly to the CEO, based at Intellijoint’s headquarters in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the sales and marketing efforts of strategic partnerships in the territory
  • Work with the Marketing team at headquarters to create digital content, manage social media in the territory, participate in training labs, trade shows, and marketing events organized by strategic partners
  • Assist with quoting approvals, contracting and attend sales meetings in the territory as a product expert as requested by strategic partners
  • Train hospital staff on the proper use of Intellijoint products as requested by strategic partners
  • Support early usage of products as needed and ensure successful transition to strategic partners
  • Upgrade and assist in the management of Intellijoint products in the territory 
  • Train strategic partners’ staff on new and upgraded features of Intellijoint products 
  • Educate strategic partners with the latest clinical studies, techniques and best practices 
  • Compliance of Quality / Training System 
  • Support clinical studies in territory as requested by strategic partners
  • Seek feedback from clients and implement actions based on this feedback
  • Demonstrate overall business acumen relative to company goals
  • Focus on generating new surgeon targets in this territory 
  • Ensure Intellijoint processes and procedures are being followed by all strategic partners and their sales representatives
  • Inventory management for the territory and ensure proper inventory levels to avoid disruptions 
  • Manage scheduling conflicts
  • Ensure compliance of strategic partners with Intellijoint contracts 
  • Assist in the recruitment process of any potential future hires 
  • Allocate resources and strategic oversight of the sales process in Australia
  • Perform feasibility of Australia territory expansion as directed/required
  • Communicate with other departments based at headquarters such as Operations, Regulatory, Finance and Research & Development

Requirements:

  • Based in Australia, preferably in Sydney or the surrounding area, with frequent travel throughout the territory
  • Ability to travel to headquarters in Waterloo, Ontario for on boarding during the first month and field visits throughout the United States and Canada

Required Skills and Experience

Qualifications: 

  • A Degree in engineering, nursing, biology, chemistry or exercise physiology field
  • Strong technical skills
  • Five plus years of medical sales experience, preferably with disruptive technology
  • Self-starter, comfortable independently leading a territory
  • Experience with new vendor approvals and managing distributor relationships

  • Frequent two-handed lifting of up to 40 pounds from floor to chair/table and from one to another surface at approximately the same level
  • Sitting, standing and/or walking for up to eight plus hours per day
  • Environmental exposures include eye protection, infectious disease and radiation
  • Ability to wear 7-9 pounds of lead for extended periods of time while in the operating room
  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls
  • Frequent bending/stooping, squatting and balance
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus in relation to travel and operating a personal computer.
  • Ability to travel extensively with ease (approx. 60% of time)
  • Periodically required to work weekends, evenings and nights
  • Must have a valid driver's license and passport
